As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the necessity of enhanced personal protective equipment (PPE) required for the safety of our dental patients and dental team, the following codes have been created for use during the COVID-19 pandemic by the Canadian Dental Association’s Uniform System of Coding & List of Services Committee in consultation with the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association.
Effective NOVEMBER 1, 2020 you will see the following procedure code added to your invoice
99901 – Non-aerosol generating procedure $18.00
OR
99901 – Aerosol generating procedure $18.00
We at Clarkson Dental Centre are not responsible for knowing the coverage of each individual insurance plan we handle. Patients with dental insurance plans should understand that eligibility will be plan
specific, and should consult with their insurance carrier prior to coming into their appointment.
The cost of infection control continues to rise and the availability of PPE has become limited. We have held off on the use of this new procedure code for as long as possible. We greatly appreciate your understanding as we all try to navigate this new normal as safely as possible.
